In 2005, Sky Harvest identified a potential wind power generation location in Beechy, Saskatchewan and entered into an agreement with a land owner allowing the company to erect a meteorological tower on land located in southwestern Saskatchewan. Sky Harvest erected this tower on the property in early October 2005 and commenced gathering wind data. Sky Harvest retained Genivar Engineering, formerly Phoenix Engineering, a leading wind power engineering firm, to assess wind speed data from the Keewatin site. The Keewatin property has a wind resource that warrants the additional collection and evaluation of wind data, and the commencement of initial engineering studies, environmental screening, and community relations activities.

Based on the wind data collected, Sky Harvest has identified the area in which it desires to acquire the rights to erect wind turbines for another nameplate capacity 175 megawatt project. It believes that this area is ideally situated as it is removed from population centers, and a 230 kV provincial electricity transmission line also traverses this property. As of the date of this report, Sky Harvest has undertaken initial negotiations with land owners in the region to acquire the rights to erect wind turbines at identified locations.

In addition to local land owner discussions, since 2007, the company has had an agreement under permit with the Government of Saskatchewan for the research and development of wind power on over 15,000 acres of government owned agricultural land in the area situated adjacent to another of the company’s meteorological towers.  Another meteorological tower has been erected on this government permitted site.  The government permit issued to erect the meteorological tower specifically acknowledges that the Government of Saskatchewan has no intention of permitting the study or development of wind power by another entity and will not permit the future development by a developer other than Sky Harvest within eight kilometers (five miles) of any of that land’s borders.  This facilitates unobstructed use of the wind resource to Sky Harvest.

Sky Harvest is currently in discussions with multiple parties regarding the potential joint venture development of its projects.
